Called the green island covered with pine and olive forests, Thassos is located in the North Aegean Sea and is part of the Eastern Macedonia region of Greece. The island is a family-friendly getaway spot with plenty of beaches, picturesque mountain villages, attractions and fun for young people. From the ancient times to the present, Thassos is famous with it's snow-white marble, and the archaeological museum in Limenas (Thassos Town) has a compelling set of statues and other artefacts recovered on the island, dating back to the Stone Age.
